Hello there, I’m Hannah

About

I'm a printmaker and illustrator based in Shropshire. My work starts with observational drawing and sketchbook exploration, which grows into expressive monotype screen prints shaped by process and place. I'm drawn to flora, fauna, and the natural world around me, and I work with curiosity and spontaneity, following the quiet discoveries that come from intuitive mark-making. The layered textures and gestural forms in my prints invite you to look closely, to notice the rhythms and small details of the natural world.

Experimentation drives everything I do. Working instinctively with monotype screen-printing, I layer, rework, and let chance play a role in how each piece comes together. I often leave earlier marks and traces of process visible, so the finished print holds both careful observation and moments of unexpected discovery.

Storytelling matters to me too. My prints carry a strong sense of atmosphere and place — not just capturing what a plant or creature looks like, but its character, movement, and presence in the landscape. By combining close observation with more abstract interpretation, I create work that rewards a second look. My sketchbook stays at the heart of it all: the space where I test ideas, reflect, and slowly shape them before they reach print.

My work has been exhibited across the UK at venues including Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh, Edinburgh College of Art, and The Collection, Lincoln as well as in solo exhibitions at The Shrewsbury Coffeehouse. Hannah has also collaborated with organisations and brands including The National Trust, Paso Primero, The Shrewsbury Coffehouse, Callaghans Gallery, Planet Doughnut, and Endorph Fitness.
